the hi! card incident..

it happened on the night i went to volunteer myself at the Monash Uni pre-departure briefing...

that night, i got a call from an unknown number..and when i picked up, a malay male voice that was totally unfamiliar said to me in his broken english, "eh...juz now arrr...errrr...i got the wrong number...i pressed 7397 instead of 7387.."..and i couldnt understand why was he taking so long to explain that he called the wrong number..so i juz replied "ya, you got the wrong number" and put down the phone..after a while he called again..and i juz rejected the call..

at that time, josh, jeremy, kel and i were going to RK house (yes that one featured on youtube) to have supper and they found it really amusing that someone would talk so much when he got the wrong number...and josh wanted to speak to him if he called again..

when we arrived at RK, he called again..and I gave the phone to josh..and he asked "eh, why u keep calling my phone ar?" and the story unfolded...

turned out that this malay guy, went to top up his hi! card and when entering his mobile phone number, he entered 98957397 (my phone number) instead of 98957387 (his phone number)...LOL!

i didnt believe him at first..coz when i last checked my balance, there was no increase yet..and i always use singtel's top up card..and so there will never be such a thing...but after that call, i found that i got an extra $10 in my balance..haha..so i got a free $10 top up from this guy...

but how did it happen? and i only realised the next day that u can actually use POSB ATMs and AXS stations all over singapore to top up your hi! card...(haha..i never used them to top up my hi! card..that's why i didnt know..)

haha...i was gonna be kind to go down to the POSB ATM to "return" the money to him..but in the end, i cldnt be bothered..its not like my house is next to an ATM... :P

well..i called the top up number and spoke to one of the customer service officers to see what can be done...turns out that he can actually call them himself and ask for the mistake to be rectified after verification..and i sms-ed him to tell him that...

well..till now, i still have the $10 free top-up from him since that day...clearly he cant be bothered to go do it...don't blame me if i used it up..you can take it back from me anytime, while there's still at least $10 on my card... :)
