O-week at Monash Uni Continued

There's so much to write abt O-week tt I dunno where to start frm leh...and I havent got lots of photos frm the others yet.. (we took turns using each other's cameras to shoot photos... =p)

nvm..write abt today..=) or maybe i wont write anymore abt O-week..haha..past so long ago liao..see how la..

its my bday today..and my dear frenz in monash here have bought a bday card for me =) Thanks guys..u rock!!

haha..and it laughs!! =p

Currently more or less settled down liao...but then its lyk I dun miss home at all...maybe i'm too busy settling down now tt i dun have time to think of home..

Today is the 1st day of Uni for me..lectures were pointless..they are all introductions to the things we are going to learn..and I really tried very hard not to fall asleep in lectures..esp during the 8am lecture today..I'm lyk still floating in dreamland and the lecturer's voice goes "warble warble warble warble culture, warble warble, experience warble warble, read up on virchow, Engels and Allende warble warble warble..." and my eyelids weighed a tonne....I need coffee!!! Or maybe I juz need to sleep earlier..but then the earlier I sleep the earlier I get up..and if i go back to sleep after i get up i'll prob be waking at 9.30 or 10am..wad to do?sigh....

Tutorial was quite fun..It was on "The medical interview"..we juz went there to talk rubbish...role play abit..and its very awkward lo..the person sitting in front of u is not a real patient but an actor..then its lyk u are trying to elicit a response frm the person..well..and I suck at it..I keep thinking of the next qn to ask...walao...damn difficult to conc lo..need to relax more...My take home lesson for tt tutorial: "Be interested in the patient and listen attentively..do not worry abt anything else..and the questions u ask will come to u.."

Yea..and my tutor even said..dun worry abt jotting down notes abt wad he said even..wait till after the interview..then write down what u remember..hmmm..gotta start practising tt..(Wonder how my MO back in the medical centre wrote down stuff and interviewed the patient at the same time...hmmm..guess its a skill we muz all learn..haha..)

yupz..after tt tutorial then 1st day of Uni was over..it didnt feel lyk it was a very long day...time passed by so quickly...and now I'm doing my laundry..gotta collect them from the washer and put them in the dryer...shall continue another time...maybe when I'm not doing my laundry..

O-week at Monash Uni

Oh man.....finally I get some free time to update this blog...Orientation's been really wild and fun..haha..Here in this update I'll feature the Melbourne city scavenger hunt!! =)

Ok, basically wad we had was a list of items and tasks we had to do..yea...and they were lyk given points..so the more difficult/embarrassing/crazy ones are given more points than the easier/not so embarrassing ones..

Bet all those who know me will nv imagine tt i'll do this:

YES!!! Bet u all nv imagined me to be in a mini skirt rite!!!wahaha...crazy man..but that's worth 5 points ok..the most difficult/embarrassing tasks are worth 10 points...well..its all in the name of fun..haha...

And all of us here really love our childhood...

Yea..and then we went on into the naughtier stuff in the list..haha...

And then all of us took a dip into the Yarra River...3 points for each person who went in.. =) and after we did it, we were told it was a federal offence to swim in it..Oops!! Well, they shld've told us earlier b4 we went in ma....

Ok...shall stop here..gotta go collect my laundry and put them in the dryer..haha..look here for more updates!! =)

I've Decided

After hearing many opinions, from my friends, Prof Low(ex TTSH surgeon general), Dr Lawrence Lim (Dermatologist practising in Trans Island Medical Grp), I've finally decided..........

to study in MONASH!! =)

I thank evryone for their valuable opinions abt this and I have chosen this...I choose it without regret for in the end, I know it does not matter..I will still be able to practise medicine, my dream career, and enjoy the satisfaction that I will gain...And besides, it will not give me a chance to brag about which world famous medical school I'm from..So it might even be a good thing too.. =)

And still I pray that the success that I have will not get to my head..May I remain as down-to-earth as I was before...And may the experience in Australia change me to become a better person, so that my parents will realise that it doesnt matter where I go to become a doctor, I chose the career because I am truly interested in it...

A Tribute

Havent posted here in quite some time...Evryone's been asking when i'm leaving...And so many ppl want to send me off on tt day...And as I go arnd meeting up with old friends, I realise how much I really am putting down to go overseas...I'm grateful to have met so many of you who have added many interesting moments in my life...

How many lasting friendships can one find in one life?I'm glad to say that I've found many.. =) Thank you, my friends..For being together even after every one of us have gone our own ways into the future..
